Carlos A. Smith, M.D., F.A.C.E.P., F.A.A.E.M., is our appointed medical director. Through his specialty in the treatment of critically ill patients, Dr. Smith is an active participant in all medical operations and transfers. Responsibilities of the medical director include approval of all appropriate flight crew members, the development of medical transfer protocols, pre-flight medical consultations and clearance, and in-flight medical assistance.
